Nick Biagini is a 22 year old woodwind player specializing in the saxophones. He is currently studying jazz performance at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst where he is a member of the Downbeat Award winning Jazz Ensemble. He has had lessons with Felipe Salles, Jeff Holmes, Tom Giampietro, and Jonathan Hulting-Cohen. His classical saxophone quartet at UMass won the state chamber music competition at the METG, and went on to compete in the regional competition two years in a row. While at UMass he has had the opportunity to play with well known performers Steve Wilson and Chico Pithier.
Nick played saxophone throughout his elementary and high-school years in Marshfield, Massachusetts. He attended New England Conservatory’s Prep School on weekends during his junior and senior years. While at NEC, he worked with Rich McLaughin, David Zoffer, Austin McMahon, and Jamie Stewardson. He studied saxophone with Mark Zaleski.
Nick is currently playing with JTQ, Ballads and Softcore Porn, The Nick Biagini Quartet, Rebound, and various other groups/artists.
